New version of the software package M-Base V4.70
=C2=A0
Dear Mr. Li,
The latest version of the M-Base software package is now available. The M=
=E2=80=91Base=C2=A0V4.70 package contains the SolutionCenter and all basi=
c software components for engineering and operation of the Bachmann autom=
ation system.
The most important new features are:
Security
The security library openssl.o, used by several system components, has be=
en updated to version 1.1.1t and contains current updates.
VxWorks7
The realtime operating system VxWorks7 has been updated to Wind River=E2=80=
=99s Service Release SR22.06.
UPC UA File Transfer
The OPC UA server now fulfills the part 20 of the OPC UA specification. I=
n addition to Data Access and Alarms & Conditions, the file system of the=
controller can be fully accessed via the OPC UA connection. The user acc=
ess rights, configured in the Bachmann system, are also active for the OP=
C UA file access.
Redundancy
The configuration of control systems with CPU redundancy and network redu=
ndancy in the SolutionCenter has been revised and significantly improved.
Improved lifetime of memory cards
When memory cards are partitioned on the controller, the partition is now=
aligned to the physical memory structure. This is often not the case whe=
n cards are partitioned on PC systems, a misalignment reduces performance=
and lifetime.
The controller now shows a logbook warning for misaligned storage media. =
To solve the warning, the card has to be partitioned and formatted again.=
Make sure to backup and restore your data before partitioning and reboot=
ing!
Improvements for repair-exchange of CPUs
The features to support spare-part exchange of CPUs have been extended. N=
ow some additional software components are automatically loaded from the =
compatibility flash if the original software versions on the memory card =
are outdated. The additional components are OPC UA (depends on openssl) a=
nd some drivers like the EtherCAT master (depends on system libraries).
Extensions and optimizations have been made in many other areas too. Plea=
se refer to the =E2=80=9CRelease Notes=E2=80=9D section for a complete li=
st of all details.

ase software package is now available. The M=E2=80=91Base V4.70 pack=
age contains the SolutionCenter and all basic software components for eng=
ineering and operation of the Bachmann automation system.<br /><br />The =
most important new features are:<br /><br /><strong>Security</strong><br =
/>The security library openssl.o, used by several system components, has =
been updated to version 1.1.1t and contains current updates.<br /><br /><=
strong>VxWorks7</strong><br />The realtime operating system VxWorks7 has =
been updated to Wind River’s Service Release SR22.06.<br /><br /><s=
trong>UPC UA File Transfer</strong><br />The OPC UA server now fulfills t=
he part 20 of the OPC UA specification. In addition to Data Access and Al=
arms & Conditions, the file system of the controller can be fully acc=
essed via the OPC UA connection. The user access rights, configured in th=
e Bachmann system, are also active for the OPC UA file access.<br /><br /=
><strong>Redundancy</strong><br />The configuration of control systems wi=
th CPU redundancy and network redundancy in the SolutionCenter has been r=
evised and significantly improved.<br /><br /><strong>Improved lifetime o=
f memory cards</strong><br />When memory cards are partitioned on the con=
troller, the partition is now aligned to the physical memory structure. T=
his is often not the case when cards are partitioned on PC systems, a mis=
alignment reduces performance and lifetime.<br />The controller now shows=
a logbook warning for misaligned storage media. To solve the warning, th=
e card has to be partitioned and formatted again. Make sure to backup and=
restore your data before partitioning and rebooting!<br /><br /><strong>=
Improvements for repair-exchange of CPUs</strong><br />The features to su=
pport spare-part exchange of CPUs have been extended. Now some additional=
software components are automatically loaded from the compatibility flas=
h if the original software versions on the memory card are outdated. The =
additional components are OPC UA (depends on openssl) and some drivers li=
ke the EtherCAT master (depends on system libraries).<br /><br />Extensio=
ns and optimizations have been made in many other areas too. Please refer=
to the “Release Notes” section for a complete list of all de=
tails.<br /> <br />Benefit from the new functionalities and improvem=
ents by updating to the new version! The software package is a full insta=
llation and completely replaces the previous versions.</div>
